"Lac Rose," which is also known as Lac Retba, in Senegal, is famous for its pink waters, caused by the presence of the bacteria Dunaliella salina in the lake.

The Pink Lake is known for its high salt content, similar to the Dead Sea. The salt concentration can reach up to 40% in some areas, making it an ideal place for salt production. The pink hue of the water is especially noticeable during the dry season when the water evaporates, leaving behind a higher salt concentration and therefore a more intense pink color.
